That’s what happened when I got invited to check out Astra Falls Creek ski hotel in Victoria’s Falls Creek resort. Let’s just say that the endless gushing TripAdvisor reviews are there for a reason. From the fancy pick-up to the tiniest little touches, Astra was designed by people who know exactly what a ski hotel experience should be like (the ski-in, ski-out is a serious bonus).

A stylish lodge located on a mountain in Australia’s Victorian Ski Alps, Astra Falls Creek offers the perfect escape for anyone wanting to cosy up while it’s cold outside with a great stack of books. Astra Lodge is the perfect choice for those of you wanting a more upscale winter wonderland holiday.
Throw in roasted marshmallows, games of Uno and a line of ready to throw snowballs and you have the added benefit of an Australian luxury ski chalet that welcomes and caters for those of us who travel with children.

All too often in today’s world we are all too quick to criticise and point out shortcomings and failures. Little too often do we take the time to recognise individuals who go above and beyond.
There is no doubting how beautiful the rooms and facilities within Astra are. Whether you’re in the beautiful restaurant eating amazing food, drinking wines from the cellar In front of the grand fire place, relaxing after a day on the mountain jumping from Magnesium pool to the hot spa Astra is truly a brilliant place to stay.
However none of the above complete the Astra experience and make it one of the best places we have stayed. I’d like to take time to thank two people within Astra. Harry for driving us around and forever making us feel welcome with his genuine persona, great conversation and stories and making sure nothing ever seemed like too much. Secondly, Derick who works within the restaurant/bar. He always remembered our names and time and time again went out of his way to talk to our three year old and make sure she always had a smile on her face.
People can make or break a hotel of any size and these two Individuals are an asset to the Astra.
Thanks for our stays, unfortunately you’re booked out for our next trip up the mountain but we will definitely be returning.

Without a doubt The Astra Lodge would be one of the most beautiful places to stay in the Australian Ski fields, and its easy to see why, for the past three years they have been awarded the best boutique ski lodge in Australia.
From the beautiful design & finishing’s to the outstanding way the staff care and pay attention to the smallest details, staying at Astra is always a very special time.
It was this feeling that made us choose Astra to host our Wedding. It’s really hard to communicate just how blown away we were with the level of professionalism, engagement and warmth shown by the whole team at Astra, over what can be quite a stressful period.
The food was absolutely delicious, effortlessly catering for our special requests. The team behind the bar were simply amazing, showing a true level of professionalism & talent, very rarely seen outside of Europe or the US. The events & operations team worked tirelessly to flawless execute our vision of our perfect day.
We can’t thank all the team at Astra enough for making the biggest day in our lives an enjoyable & memorable one.

We have been lucky enough to stay at a number of ski lodges in both Australia and the USA. The latest renovations at the Astra are world class!!!
The small but extremely well appointed studio suite was super, perfect for a few days away. The Lodge has all the facilities you would expect from a first class stay of this type. The in-house day spa was a superb addition!
The Astra must be one of the best ski lodges now in Australia – love it! We will be back!

Astra, is a wonderful experience. We were there for only 5 nights but every moment was great. Picked up in a very new oversaw vehicle too Astra.
Rooms are modern have everything possible. The ski locker room was the most modern fabulous, practical facility. The lounge and bar full of fun. The restaurant, devious and very satisfying and even provide marshmallows for the fire.
A special room for kids, with video games, books and board games…great when weather has everyone inside. Love it.

“The Astra Lodge in Falls Creek provided the perfect long weekend escape and a chance for some spring skiing for me and my husband. On arrival – as it was late in the season, and the lodge was not full, we were told we had been upgraded to a suite – without even asking!! The room was gorgeous. Simple yet beautiful.
The breakfasts were included and amazing. The restaurant and bar PERFECT for apres ski drinks and the food delicious.

“Vibe of hotel was great, friendly hosts and staff, beautiful bar area to relax in. We always travel with our children and the hotel was very welcoming of our kids. The beds were absolutely fantastic – I wanted to strip one before we left to see what brand they were but forgot!
